Italy – Groundwater monitoring for landfills

Condividi su:

In compliance with Legislative Decree 36/2003the monitoring of environmental conditions and any soil and subsoil pollution is envisaged in landfills and waste treatment plants. In particular, the groundwater can be subject to leachate contamination, for this reason a precise control, aimed at the continuous analysis of the quality of the water, is essential.

Nesa recently developed and installed an extensive monitoring system at one of the largest landfills in southern Italy, consisting of 7 peripheral stations, at wells located in and around the area of interest, and a central weather-climate station. In an area of about 800,000 m2, the stations communicate via IoT technology and send data to a cloud-based control software.

More than 50 parameters are constantly monitored by the system, which alerts via APP for any anomaly or change of interest to intervene quickly. Some air quality parameters also report to the weather-climate station for completeness of information.

A solution that Nesa has already successfully proposed in other similar applications, and which once again demonstrates the quality of our systems.
